substitutes

 some basic vegan substitutes for everyday cooking.

1 EGG
-1 tbsp ground flax meal mixed with 3tbsp of water

- 1 tbsp vinegar (apple cider vinegar) and 1 tsp of baking soda (for leavening, making bread, muffins/cakes)

-1/2 banana (use only if you don't mind the recipe to be banana- flavored, such as desserts and pancakes!)

-1/4 of tofu (make sure to blend before mixing in)

-1/4 apple sauce (good for baked goods)

-OR buy an egg replacer like EnerG.

1 CUP MiLK
- soy milk, rice milk, almond milk, coconut milk, hazelnut milk
^ they all have their place but if you're looking for less added flavor go with soy milk.
Silk brand is my personal favorite!

1 TBSP BUTTER
- 1 tbsp of vegan margarine, i use Earth Balance!
- 1 tbsp of vegetable shortening

1 TBSP CHEESE
- 1 tbsp of nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp daiya cheese

other vegan dairy products on the market that ARE easy to find- just take a look!
- cream cheese & sour cream, i use Tofutti brand!

1 TBSP OF HONEY
-1 tbsp of maple syrup
-1 tbsp of agave nectar
