current favorites

here is a quick post on my two favorite things to eat lately & that i try really hard to incorporate into anything and everything i eat....with really embarrassing amounts

1. carob chips

Vegan Carob Chips
http://www.sunspire.com/products/vegan-carob-chips

basically vegan chocolate chips- check out the link to get more information of what is all in it!

i use them just like i did regular chocolate chips (with dairy/ non vegan) some examples- pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, muffins/pastries and just plain as a snack.

here are some reasons why it is a healthier chocolate chip version if the fact that i swear it's to die for and absolutely amazing doesn't cut it (don't need to be vegan to use vegan substitute y'all !)

1. provides fiber
2. no cholesterol
3. decreases your caffeine intake
4. calcium
read this post from LIFESTRONG for details on the mentioned health benefits!

2. flax-seeds - basically a super food everyone should get into their diet.

some ways i have incorporated it into my meals is shakes/smoothies, oatmeal, cereal, breads, muffins/pastries...basically you will hardly notice it's there and all you need a day is like 3 tablespoons. that's how much i eat when i grab a fist full before putting it into my food....i just really enjoy eating them plain! you can also get flax-seed meal which is already ground up and great for recipes.
